Dave Carpenter - CEO

David Carpenter is a business graduate (BBS) of Trinity College, Dublin and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (FCA). He previously held the position of Chief Executive of the ECDL-Foundation, the worldwide governing body for the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), and its international counterpart the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL), certification programme. During his tenure he grew the ECDL/ICDL programme into the largest and fastest growing end-user desk top certification programme in the world with almost 7,000,000 registered students and an operational presence in over 140 countries worldwide across a network of more than 50 licensees.

Garry Cleere - Programmes Director

Garry Cleere holds an MA from UCD in French Literature, and a BSc from Trinity in Computers and Business. He worked as Head of Certification at the ECDL Foundation from 1998 and had a significant role in product development and technical development of the ECDL from its very early stage, as well as more recently a range of other end-user and professional IT related certification products. Garry has significant experience in certification development, from programmes specification, blueprinting and development through to validation, based on industry norms to produce valid, defensible certification outputs. He has particular expertise in automated testing, and e-learning content specification for certification programmes. Garry is currently undertaking an MBA at the IMI and is a member of the Irish Computer Society.

Dudley Dolan - Chairman

Dudley Dolan is a Senior Lecturer (recently retired) with the Department of Computer Science, Trinity College Dublin. He is an Honorary Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Distinguished Fellow of the Irish Computer Society. He is a member of the E-LANE (eLearning for Latin America, New Education) project funded through the Alliance for the Information Society and e-Tutor (producing Multicultural Collaborative Synchronous eLearning guidelines) which is funded by DG EAC through the eLearning programme. He was Vice Chairman of the CEPIS User Skills Task Force, which developed the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence). He is a member of the European e-Skills Forum and the CEN/ISSS Workshop for a European ICT Skills Meta Framework. He participates in the e-SCC (e-Skills Certification Consortium) and EIF (European Internet Foundation).
